Playmates is a family-run Children’s Day Nursery, established in 1993, providing the highest levels of childcare in a safe nurturing environment.
Located in the heart of the community our aim is to provide every child with the absolute best start in life supported by a high ratio of highly qualified team of practitioners.
We believe that your child has amazing potential, we also know that no two children are the same. That is why we strive to make every child’s journey at Playmates a unique and fun filled adventure where the focus is on discovery through play.
The children at playmates love trying new things making friends and learning skills! Some of there favourite activities are planting in the garden playing in the messy play or playhouse we even do baking and acting on our own stage. All of the activities are planned to ensure that each child is developing and learning new skills!
We also take our children on visits to the local park, the marina and the beach which are all in our vicinity. On sunny days we also love to go for picnics.
We are committed to providing the absolute best care and education for all of our children, and we could not do this without having a dedicated, enthusiastic, and highly qualified team who help to make every day magical. All of our 26 staff are at least level 3 qualified and take a tremendous amount of pride and joy in what they do.
Learning in the early years is hugely important but it has to be FUN! That’s why we place great importance on learning through exploration, sensory play and with our friends. We also learn about the world around us, as we celebrate special days such as VE Day, and many religious festivals such as Easter and Diwali.
At Playmates, we understand the responsibility and privilege of caring for the most precious thing in your life, your child. We value being your partner in the care, education, and social wellbeing of your child, and ensure that communication between the parent and the nursery is at the highest possible level, even during the pandemic.
All of our meals are expertly prepared and cooked on site by our kitchen team led by head chef Alison. We cater for all of our children and all of their dietary or religious requirements using only the healthiest and freshest ingredients, sourced as locally as possible.
